Videos showing GehGeh and a woman dressed in matching burgundy traditional outfits at what appeared to be a wedding ceremony sparked widespread speculation that the outspoken influencer had secretly tied the knot. The footage also attracted criticism from fans and fellow content creators, many of whom accused him of abandoning the relationship views he has long promoted online.
Speaking in an interview with StreamRewind, GehGeh clarified that the event was staged to generate public reactions and promote his brand.
“We organised everything as a normal promo. And so far, apart from the fact that we purposely did it, I still wanted to get the public’s reactions,” he said.
According to him, the stunt was also designed to address what he described as widespread misconceptions about the teachings of his GehGeh Wisdom and Knowledge University.
“Some people have a misunderstanding about my GehGeh Wisdom and Knowledge University. When you see some people, the major thing they have been saying is that GehGeh told them not to get married, but I got married,” he explained.
GehGeh insisted that he has never discouraged marriage entirely, maintaining that his views have always favoured polygamy over monogamy.
“I did not kick against marriage. I said, ‘Do not marry, and even if you must marry, go for polygamy.’ This is because polygamy is the path that guides a man’s heart from heartbreak,” he said.
Explaining his stance further, he argued that having multiple wives reduces the chances of emotional manipulation by a single partner.
“Because when you are with different women, it will be hard for one woman to manipulate you. And this was what our forefathers practised. That is the core principle of my university,” he added.
His clarification comes days after the viral wedding videos triggered heated debates online, with many questioning whether the influencer had abandoned the relationship philosophy that has become central to his public image.
